Oh my sweet sweet seniors how I love taking your pictures! McKenzie was so much fun, absolutely stunning and I adored her kind personality. Any girl that can rock red high heels is awesome in my book. Senior sessions are the perfect time to showcase your personality and show the world who you are. I still laugh when I look at my senior pictures, I mean seriously, what was I thinking! Our young adults are so willing to express themselves and be who they truly are….and I love it! Bridal Session Tips!

Bridal sessions are like a trail run for the wedding day. It is a great opportunity for the bride and photographer to get to know each other and besides that, they are just stinking fun. What girl doesn’t want an excuse to wear her dress more than once! A huge benefit of shooting a bridal session is that is allows the bride to see how her shoes, jewelry, make-up and accessories all fit together and how well they photograph. If practice makes perfect, than consider your bridal session as practice for the big day and get ready to look and feel awesome.

Here are a list of helpful tips and tricks!

Talk to your photographer and discuss the “look and feel” you desire. We give our brides a list of accommodating locations that fit their needs. Sometimes venues charge a photography fee either a lump sum or an hourly fee. We are happy to check on that for our brides. Always ask your photographer if they have a membership or discount for that venue.
We like to shoot our bridals at least 6 to 8 weeks from the wedding date. We have a fast editing turnaround time but like to leave plenty of time for our brides to order prints and canvases. This also allows for the dress to be professionally cleaned if needed.
If you are working with a wedding planner – bring them. Planners have “magic” bags they roll around that pretty much have anything and everything you could possible need. If you are not working with a planner a good idea is to have your best friend, or maid of honor come to the session. They are pretty much there to help in any way you need them. I always bring an assistant to each session just to hold your dress and fix your hair! Many girls want to bring their mom to the session. While we love our moms, and want them to be involved, it is not always easy for them to see you in your dress with the possibility of it getting dirty. We are very careful and go to great lengths to keep your dress in perfect condition however, it may get a bit dusty on the bottom and need cleaning. DON’T FREAK OUT!
Please, PLEASE make sure you have the following items: Lip gloss, flip flops, tissues, bobby pins, water, granola bar, small fan, travel size hairspray.
YOUR BOUQUET! Talk to your florist at your initial consult and let them know if you are planning on taking bridal portraits. It is important that the bouquet look as similar to the one you will carry on your wedding day. Makes for a more consistent look.
Don’t forget to make your hair and make-up appointment and leave about 30 min of extra time. We have found that hair and make-up appointments tend to run a tad behind.

Bridal sessions are FUN, super fun and you should enjoy the shoot and have a blast.

We love getting close ups of your make-up and shoe details. You should look and feel absolutely beautiful.

Newborn Session – Baby Jack

I have know Crystal for a very long time. We have so many memories together from our days at private school through high school. It is still hard to wrap my mind around the fact that we are all grown up with babies. And for Crystal her 3rd. A New baby BOY! It was such a treat to hang out all day with Crystal, Andrew and baby Jack, as a matter of fact, I took the first picture when he was exactly 24 hours old. Talk about NEW! The big sisters even came up for a quick visit. New baby, new baby smells, new baby noises…I LOVE it all. Thank you so much sweet Crystal and Andrew for allowing me to capture your new miracle. Baby Jack is one lucky boy.

Family Session – Adriatica, McKinney Texas

Shooting a family with small children is always an adventure. I actually love this session because we were able to capture so much personality and character! Every photo does not have to be perfect, actually what makes the shot perfect are the imperfections. I am a huge fan of candid photos that work. 2 year old do not always want their picture taken and could care less that you are making a fool of yourself to make them smile. I LOVE IT. What a bright, fun, happy family.

Homemade Egg Noodles

So Chris and I love to cook. Chris is a better cook and I am a better baker. We are always wanting to try new recipes and when they turn out great we try and perfect them! I have been making egg noodles since high school. As a matter of fact, the recipe in the photo below is the same one I scribbled on in the 10th grade and still use. I cannot even remember the last time I actually bought noodles at the store. These are super easy to make and taste so MUCH BETTER!!!!!! I usually double the batch, divide into 4 equal parts and freeze. So easy to throw into a pot of my chicken noodle soup! Hope you try them and I really hope you LOVE them!

First you gently mix all the ingredients together until a dough forms. Do NOT over mix or the dough will become tough.

Then on a floured surface roll out as thin as you can get it. I use a pizza cutter to cut small noodle strips. They do not have to be perfect.

After the dough has been cut toss the noodles with a little flour to keep them from sticking. At this point you can divide and put into freezer bags. If you are going to use the noodles right away I let mine sit on the counter and air dry for about 15 min. Add them to your soup when it is boiling and cook for 20 min!

This is the second time I have taken little missy’s pictures with her Mama! What a joy to see her personality shine through this time! Kim and I giggled watching her jump and dance around! Yea, for bright colors, fun outfits and so much love between a Mama and her daughter! You two are more than adorable!

Beach Party! Kolbie turns 4!!!

My kid’s birthdays are the highlight of my year! We have such a blast planning, baking, decorating and crafting. I make the kids decide on a theme in August so we have plenty of time to find some great deals. This year we went with a “Beach” theme with a slightly modern twist. I loved using yarn and craft tags with the bold solid colors along with the glass bottles. The only request from both of the kids the year was that I make their cake…yikes, this is so not my department so I took the easy way out and made cupcakes. We had crafts for the kids an ornament to decorate and a sweet candy bar. Each girl had a tiny pail with fingernail polish that Kolbie specifically choose for everyone. She was so cute telling me who liked what color! We personalized the table with custom name tags and pink cups! I made funny little beach saying that were scattered throughout the house! Kolbie was so involved this year and helped me make all the treats. The hardest part was narrowing it down, this girl loves EVERYTHING!!!! Yes, of course the colors were pink and teel! The look on her face when she walked into the house after everything was set up was priceless. She could hardly contain herself!

This girl is so loved and we are so thankful to all her sweet friends and family that came to help us celebrate! Chris and I are so proud of her and we are still trying to figure out how she is already 4! Thank you Lord for giving us this precious girl, I love being her Mama! (and now I need a NAP!)
