Two crazy wonderful years of making memories in our home. Having rented homes before purchasing this one, I always had a burning itch to paint and decorate the way I wanted to. I am really lucky that my husband does not care what I do, or what color I choose to decorate he gives me artistic freedom. I mean HELLO, he painted my dinning room table lime green! Awesomeness. I fully expected that after 2 years of living here it would look like a page from Martha Stewart magazine with each room matching perfectly with the next and every candle lit when you showed up unexpectedly. YEA RIGHT! We have done some minor improvements and I love the way things are going and the projects that lay ahead. It is so wonderful to know that Chris and I are putting our own sweat and tears into this house and making it ours!
Here are a few projects we have done over the last two years.
Finally put actual flowers in the pot by the front door and they are beautiful!
The fence was a “forced” project due to the crazy weather and wicked winds….we needed a new one anyway so no big deal. Chris and our neighbor built the fence themselves and did a stellar job. All that is left is a few trim pieces!
We were able to plant our 1st Texas garden! Kolbie loves picking the red tomatoes everyday!
Chris and I (mostly Chris) remodeled our kitchen when we moved in. I will say it gets lots of use and we spend a great deal of time hanging out as a family there.
My kids finally have a dedicated play room!!!! No more toys in the living room. It is a great place for the kids to hang out and chill! I am getting ready to paint and really make the room “FUN”
Sniff sniff, Kolbie moved up to a big girl bed and a big girl room. I still have lots to finish in her room but at least the walls are painted and her bed is up. I am looking for a dresser I can mess up…I mean stylize to fit the room!
Poor Conan, his room has not changed a bit. I have everything planned out for his room and will start working on it this winter. The only thing that has been added to his room are baseball trophies and the only thing taken out are a few lost teeth. He is a trooper!
Good thing I finished the guest bathroom downstairs as it is getting lots of use these days!
I hope everyone is making wonderful magical memories at home!
