It is so hard for me to imagine that 2 whole years have flown by. Kolbie surprised us by making an early entrance into our lives and has not ceased to bring us pure happiness. I have an unhealthy obsession with my kid’s birthdays. I am so grateful for their existence that I tend to go overboard celebrating their special day. To me their birthday’s signify the greatest blessing I could ever ask for. I only had to excuse myself once and rushed to the bathroom to wipe my eyes.
Because Kolbie’s birthday is 3 days after Christmas I decided to have it before with a Gingerbread decorating party. The party theme was, “How Sweet it is to be 2” I had a blast planning, baking, and decorating! Kolbie took an awesome nap before the party and woke up in the best of moods! I appreciate everyone that came to her celebration and those that couldn’t make it.
Chris and I are so proud of our sugar girl. She is so perfect for our family. I can’t help but walk around beaming at the perfect gift God has giving us. To you Kolbie Hope all the love I could ever imagine.
Here is the “Sweets” table. In my opinion no party is complete without balloons.
I used a white cabinet to display the cupcakes. I just liked the way it looked, clean and simple.
I made chocolate dipped marshmallows dipped in crushed candy canes, sugar pearls, and sprinkles. So easy.
Her cupcakes were vanilla and red velvet with buttercream frosting.
Thanks to Shannon Star for those sweet babies.
I wanted something other that just plain candy canes and when I saw these heart shaped suckers I had to try and make some.
Rice Krispie treats are one of my favorite treats. Dipped in chocolate even better!
I wanted to make white chocolate covered pretzels but didn’t have the time to coat them entirely. So, I thought I will just dip half and then in red sprinkles to mimic a candy cane. As I was staring at them I thought WOW! those look like Santa Hats. I added the marshmallow and Ta-Da….Pretzel Santa Hats were born!
Cherry poptarts cut into tiny circles. Just perfect for tiny fingers.
For party favors I put white snowflake ornaments and hot tamales in cute little Martha Stewart bags.
One of my favorite features about Kolbie is her adorable bob haircut and her one dimple. When I asked Shannon about her cake I asked if she could make a “Kolbie Character” sitting in front of the north pole. Did she deliver or what!!!! Looks just like my baby.
The start of the sugar rush!
2 candles. 2 years old. (sniff sniff)
She just makes me smile. ALL THE TIME.
I wanted to get a shot of her next to the “sugar version” of herself.
Chris, me, and Kolbers!
Happy Birthday Baby Cakes.
